* Per District policy, leaving campus during the school day is prohibited. Students who are caught exiting the building without prior approval from administration or those caught leaving campus will be disciplined for a Truancy. First offense will result in a day of In School Suspension and consequences will increase from there.
* SPS Students will be required to wear their school ID Badge to all sporting events home and away. All students, K-12, must remain in the stands during the game except to go to the restroom or concession stand. High school students who need a new ID badge can order one with their first block teacher or go to the ID badge room before school or during their lunch period to get one at any point during the school year. Must be your actual badge and not a picture on your phone. No School ID = No Admission. This is being implemented by all SPS High Schools.
* Parking - Students do NOT park in STAFF, VISITOR, or HANDICAPPED SPOTS at KHS. Also, do NOT park at Gillenwater tennis courts, Birchpointe across the street, OR any of our local businesses. You may be fined or towed.
IF someone parks in your assigned spot please park in visitor and report to the attendance office that someone is in your spot. Admin will handle it from that point. Thank you.
* National Seat Belt Day - On Monday, Nov.14th, to coincide with National Seat Belt Day we will have multiple events going on throughout the day to educate and promote safe driving habits for our students. We will have the “Chief Challenge” safe driving contracts for students to fill out before school and during lunch in the commons. These contracts will be a pledge to practice safe driving habits and when they fill them out they will have a chance to win prizes from area businesses who have donated. After school we will have candy to be handed out to students who are observed wearing their seat belts and not using their phones. During first and second block we will have a mock crash/docudrama outside. We will have student actors, police officers with a patrol car, fireman with a fire truck, EMS with an ambulance, a hearse, and crashed cars. Kickapoo students will be playing the roles of victims involved in a crash. First and Second block teachers have the opportunity to take their classes outside to see.
This will have the entrances on the Jefferson Avenue side of our building closed from 8 a.m. - Noon.
Thanks to Kickapoo's Officer Goss for putting this
together for our students and thanks to all of the local business for their
donations. Also, a big thank you to all of the first responders who are
helping and for what they do everyday in our community.
