We hope everyone enjoyed the Labor Day weekend! We look forward to seeing everyone back in class at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8th.

These announcements include several important items, but they are not all inclusive. * Open House/SPS U - Kickapoo will be hosting our Open House/SPS U event on Thursday, Sept. 10th from 5:30 - 7 p.m.
We do have three meetings scheduled for the evening and they will take place in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). The remainder of the night is a come and go event for you to visit classrooms, tour our building, and check out the club fair inside the commons.
5:30 p.m. - Welcome and KHS and SPS updates from Dr. Powers.
6 p.m. - Kickapoo U meeting for families of students in Kickapoo U.
6:30 p.m. - Senior meeting for families with students in the Class of 2027.
* Parent Pick Up - Do NOT park at Birch Pointe OR any of our local businesses for afternoon pickup. You are taking their customer and patients parking spots. You may be fined or towed. Thank you!
* Morning Drop off and Afternoon Pick up - Please do NOT use the Jefferson Avenue entrance as this is where our busses unload each morning between 7:30 and 8:05 and the busses pick up between 3 and 3:20 each day.

* SPS High School Attendance Requirement for Dances. In order to attend a SPS dance students must meet the following requirements:
90% overall attendance (school-sponsored activities do not count as absences) by a determined date prior to the dance set by the high school site administration.

Kickapoo's first dance is Friday, Oct 16. Students must have 90% or better attendance by end of day Friday, Oct. 9th.

* SPS High School Final Exam Exemption Requirements. Students are eligible for finals exemption by meeting the following criteria:
90% overall attendance (school-sponsored activities do not count as absences) per semester.
Received no ISS or OSS for the semester.
Passing the class with an 90% or greater prior to the final exam.
Exempt students may take the final to improve their grade in a class; in this case, the final grade cannot hurt the student’s overall grade.
Required to attend class during the final exam block and complete optional enrichment tasks provided.

* Chromebook Help - Student Chromebook issues like Canvas blocked or a Google App blocked are easy for students to correct in class. Print and post this pdf or add this to your daily slides.
- Students can turn in Chromebooks for repair at a self service station in the library and pick up a repair loaner to keep until their device is returned.
- There are no loaner chargers available. Students can drop their device off to charge if needed.
- Students should bring a charged Chromebook to school each day. We are limited on the number of loaners we have and first priority goes to students needing repairs. Thank you.
* ID Badges - ALL students received a NEW badge and lanyard during 2nd block on the 1st day of class. IF they did not, please have them report to the ID badge room to get one as soon as possible.

* FREE Tutoring - Will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8th and is held in our library each day we are in session. Tutoring is from 3:25 - 4:25 p.m. and is open to all Kickapoo students.

* Parent Volunteer Interest - We are looking for a couple of parent volunteers to help in our
main office each week! Parent volunteers help with answering the phone, greeting and directing students,
parents or other visitors to our building and other miscellaneous things in the
office. This is a 3-hour shift each week and is an every week commitment.
We
currently have 2 time slots open. Every Wednesday morning, 8:30-11:30 am or
Friday morning, 8:30-11:30 am, when school is in session.

- Any students needing WiFi can request a Kajeet hotspot through our library.
- Kickapoo will open our doors at 7:40 a.m. and first block begins at 8:10 a.m. every day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday.
- Wednesday is late start for students so staff may participate in professional learning. Classes begin at 8:40 a.m. ALL BUSSES WILL RUN AT NORMAL TIMES.
- Classes end at 3:10 p.m. every day.
- All students should leave school/campus by 3:45 p.m. unless directly supervised by a teacher, coach, or sponsor.
- Students should take home Chromebooks every day and charge them each night.
- Deliveries to school - Parents/guardians may deliver food and other items to school. We ask that you label and leave them on the table. Please communicate with your student to let them know items have been dropped off for them as we do not contact them.
- NO FOOD or DRINK DELIVERIES FROM OUTSIDE VENDORS. Thank you!
- Dress code - Follow all dress code expectations. Cover ALL B's!
