Welcome to Cherokee!

Hello Cherokee families,

Welcome to Cherokee Middle School! We are very excited for the 2014 - 2015 school year.

Here are a few ways you can stay connected with what's happening at Cherokee.

Some of you follow this blog. I must admit I don't do a great job of sending out updates via this avenue. However, we have a couple of other ways you can stay connected.

You can follow Cherokee on Twitter. Our username is @CherokeeSPS and we use the hashtags #GoIndians and #CMSproud to tag events and highlights as well. Not sure how to use Twitter? Just ask your student. . . many of them are using it.

You can also receive text message updates via Remind. You can sign up for these alerts via this link:
https://www.remind.com/join/principalp
or you can send the following text message: @principalp to the this number 858-914-4324.

As always you are more than welcome to give me a call at 523-7210, email me at wtpowers@spsmail.org, or schedule a visit.

We appreciate all you do and look forward to continuing our journey together!

5th Annual Cherokee Blood Drive

Hello families -

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.
I don't know about you, but I am ready for some temperatures above freezing!

This Monday, Jan. 27th from 2 - 6 p.m. Cherokee NJHS will be hosting our 5th Annual Blood Drive in conjunction with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks.

We are in need of all blood types and anyone age 16 and older is eligible to donate. All it takes is 1 hour of your time and 1 pint of your blood to help save 3 lives.

This is near and dear to me as 5 years ago this Feb. 14th my son, Seely, benefited from a blood donor. The donation helped save his life and today he is a healthy almost 5 year old!

Thank you for consideration and donation!
