Kickapoo announcements for Oct. 1 - 5, 2018

Kickapoo Families,

I hope each of you had a fantastic weekend and week ahead.
Please remember the best way to stay connected to Kickapoo is through our website and
the daily announcements each and every day.

As a reminder the information I share here is NOT all inclusive to what is happening
at Kickapoo High School. You will find much, much more on our new website you can
find it HERE. The calendar and daily announcements are updated each day and can be found
in the left column. I would recommend checking this daily to stay informed of the
KHS happenings.

Drop Off & Pick up
Thank you to those of you who are safely dropping off and picking up your students. We are
thankful for you watching out for ALL students.
Our number one priority is the safety of our students/your child(ren)!
With this we need everyone to please do NOT drop off students in the middle
of the street (Jefferson and/or Primrose).
Also, please DO NOT park in local business parking lots. Thank you.

We allow students in the building beginning at 7:20 each morning and classes start
at 7:50 Monday - Thursday and at 8:20 on Friday’s.
Thank you for making KHS as safe as possible for ALL students.

Ignite Info - All students received their Chromebooks on the first day of school or when they
enrolled if after the first day. This information provides insurance details. You can learn
even more about IGNITE here.

Phone calls regarding D’s/F’s
Stay tuned - if your student is receiving a D and/or F in any of their classes you will be
receiving a phone call encouraging you to go to eSchool Home Access
to check your child's grades. I would also recommend you connect with the teachers
to find out how we can partner to ensure your student has success in ALL classes.

PTSA - We currently have 8 business and 99 individual members. We’d love to have you
and/or your business join. Click HERE for links to the forms.
As a reminder we do offer a PTSA scholarship to graduating seniors. The total dollar
amount available depends on our memberships and donations. Please note the student
must also be a member of PTSA as well.
Thank you to everyone who has joined to date.

FLU shots
Kickapoo will host a flu shot clinic on Friday, Nov. 16th. Click HERE for consent forms
and other information. These forms are due to the KHS nurses by Nov. 1st.

We had a great turnout for Parent Teacher conferences last week. Thank you for everyone
taking time to connect with your child(ren)s teachers. If you were unable to make it OR you
would like to schedule a time at any point during the year please don’t hesitate to reach out
to teachers or counselors.

Kickapoo Families,

School Picture day was Thursday, Sept. 6th. Didn’t order then? No fear
When the pictures are returned to students you will receive a proof with a
personalized password which you will be able to use to view and order the
pictures online.  That is typically 3-4 weeks after picture day.

PTSA - We’d love to have you and/or your business join. Click HERE for links

Also, PTSA is seeking families to help with providing food for the KHS staff
during Parent Teacher conferences this Thursday evening.
They also need help setting up, serving, and clean up.

Parent - Teacher conferences
Just a reminder we will hold parent-teacher conferences on Thursday,
Sept. 20th from 3:30 - 7 p.m.
You can call 523-8749 Monday, Sept. 17th between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
to schedule an appointment with teachers.
If you call Tuesday - Thursday call our mainline at 523-8500. Thank you!

Also, Kickapoo U will hold a parent meeting Thursday evening @ 5:30 p.m.
in the library. This is a repeat of the meeting held at Open House.
