Sept. 28 - Oct. 2 announcements

Hello Cherokee Families,
First quarter is winding down. Students were given progress reports (6 weeks) on Friday. Please sign and return. Please continue to monitor and communicate with teachers if you have questions/concerns. Thanks!

Here are a few updates and reminders for you:
1.                 School picture day - Friday, Oct. 9th. Forms will be sent home and information our on website at least one week in advance.
2.      FLU shots/mist - will be available at Cherokee on Oct. 16th.  Check our website for more information. Here is the CONSENT FORM
3.      End of 1st quarter - Oct. 9th.
4.       No school for students - Oct. 12th.
5.       Parent/Teacher conference week - Conferences will be held Monday, Oct. 26th and Wednesday, Oct. 28th. However, you are welcome to schedule a conference any time by contacting your child(ren)s teachers. More info to come on scheduling for 10/26 and 10/28.
6.                 Daily Announcement and website – Remember you can stay closely connected with these listed events and even more each day by visiting our website HERE. Our Daily Announcements are updated Monday – Friday.
7.        More student Clubs available → Please check the announcements on our website and above (#5) for more information on how our students can get involved.
8.       PTSA Reflections contest - This is a fine art opportunity for all of our students. The 2015 - 2016 theme is “Let Your Imagination Fly” and you can find the rules and entry form HERE. Deadline is Oct. 30th.
9.       PTSA cookie dough fundraiser - Will be delivered to Cherokee this Thursday, Oct. 1. Please make arrangements to pick up large orders immediately after school. Thank you.
10.     We have an amazing team here at Cherokee. Thank you to the three families who submitted a recognition recently! You have no idea how much this means to our teachers and staff.
You can complete an Employee Recognition Form here (the link isn’t currently working, but should be very soon) to show them your appreciation. No recognition is too small. Thank you for taking the time to recognize and celebrate our staff!
11. IGNiTE - Parents please take approximately 5 minutes to complete this technology survey          Thank you.
12. Box Tops - See this flyer  for a way to easily contribute 5 box tops to Cherokee PTSA. Thank you.
13. Wrestling & Boys basketball - are coming soon. Wrestling info can be found HERE. Basketball tryouts are: 7th grade Oct. 15th & 16th and 8th grade is Oct. 13th & 14th. Student informational meeting is Monday, Oct. 5th at 7:35 a.m.

I am loving this cooler weather. I hope you had an opportunity to get outdoors and enjoy it this weekend.

1. PTSA meeting - Tuesday, Sept. 15th at 7:30 a.m. in the library. ALL are welcome.
2.       Book Fair - You may make purchases online HERE through Sept. 15th. Information may be found on our website as well. Thank you for your support.
3. Daily Announcement and website – Remember you can stay closely connected with these listed events and even more each day by visiting our website HERE. Our Daily Announcements are updated Monday – Friday.
4.   More student Clubs available → Please check the announcements on our website and above (#3) for more information on how our students can get involved.
5. Want to volunteer to be a Book Talk leader or Character Ed leader this year? It isn’t too late. We’d love to have you. Please contact Ms. Bueno for Book talk and Mrs. Jill Wilson for Character Ed. Thank you!

Sept. 8 - 11 parent update

Hello Cherokee Families,
I hope you had a great Labor Day weekend.
Here are a few updates and reminders for you:
1. Open House is Thursday, Sept. 10th from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Parking will be at a premium so please take advantage of our bus service from The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks.
2. Book Fair - Our Fall Book Fair will be held in our library from today to Friday, Sept. 11th. You may make purchases online HERE through Sept. 15th. Information may be found on our website as well. Thank you for your support.
