Kickapoo Families,

Welcome back students! We hope each of you had a Happy Thanksgiving.

A reminder to stay up to date on your students grades. We encourage you to continue to keep
in close communication with teachers and counselors if you have ANY questions at all.
We are here to serve you and your student.

Also, please inform other Kickapoo families of this communication. We want as many
people as possible to be in the loop of what is happening at KHS.

However, a reminder the information I share here is NOT all inclusive to what is happening

Opportunity to Support our Students
Mr. Cornelius and Mrs. Honeycutt are colaborating on Masterwroks Concert PBL.
You can learn more and donate to their project to help our KHS students HERE.

Mrs. Cormack and Mr. Hostetler have joined together to bring our Functional Skills class
with the Ecology I and II classes as they work on ‘Understanding Each Other &
Our Ecosystem.” Please see the link below for more details.
Currently the project is only $235 from being fully funded. Please share with your family,
friends, businesses, and colleagues as we hope to have this project fully funded in the next 10 days. Thank you for considering.

Drop Off & Pick up
Families - Please do NOT drop off your students on the streets. Even if it is near
the crosswalk this is dangerous for your child and those driving around you. We don’t want
anyone begin injured. Please do your part and go through the carline.

Thank you to those of you who are safely dropping off and picking up your students. We are
thankful for you watching out for ALL students.
Our number one priority is the safety of our students/your child(ren)!

Also, please DO NOT park in local business parking lots. Thank you.
We allow students in the building beginning at 7:20 each morning and classes start at 7:50
Monday - Thursday and at 8:20 on Friday’s.
Thank you for making KHS as safe as possible for ALL students.

Ignite Info - All students received their Chromebooks on the first day of school or when they
enrolled if after the first day. This information provides insurance details. You can learn

Phone calls regarding D’s/F’s
NO call this week due to only two days of school last week. Calls will resume Monday,
Dec. 3rd.
If your student is earning a D and/or F in any of their classes you will be receiving a
phone call encouraging you to go to eSchool Home Access to check your child's grades.
I would also recommend you connect with the teachers and counselors to find out how we
can partner to ensure your student has success in ALL classes.

Recognize a Kickapoo Staff Member
We love to celebrate the great work of our teachers, counselors, secretaries, custodians,
nutrition services, para professionals, etc.
Please take a few minutes to complete this form to help us celebrate the great work they do.

End of Course Exams (EOC) - Will be held on Dec. 10th & 11th for the following classes:
Alg. I & II, English I & II, Biology, and Liberty & Law. Students in these classes will be
informed by teachers of the exact date for the exam.
Questions? Contact your students teacher.

Final Exams - Will be held on Dec. 19th and 20th. We will not approve early finals
unless a) there is a medical emergency, b) there is a death in the family, c) student is
moving prior to the final, or d) a direct family member is being deployed or returning
from military service.
If a student is leaving early for vacation, travel, or another activity not listed above,
they will not be approved for early finals. Questions? Contact Mr. Harvey - Assistant

No School for Students - Our Winter Break will be from Dec. 21 - Jan 2.
The last day for students is Thursday, Dec. 20th and students return Thursday, Jan. 3.

As a reminder we do offer a PTSA scholarship to graduating seniors. The total dollar amount
available depends on our memberships and donations. Please note the student must also be a
member of PTSA as well.
