Aug. 31 - Sept. 4 parent email


Hello Cherokee Families,
I hope you all have been enjoying the beautiful weather and are looking forward to a great Labor Day weekend.
Here are a few updates and reminders for you:
1.     You can follow us on Twitter by searching for @CherokeeSPS or you can receive text messages via Remind by sending a text to 81010 with the message @principalp
a.     We use our Twitter feed to not only make announcements, but also celebrate and share our story. I encourage you to check it out. Our Twitter feed is visible on the left-hand side of our webpage, below the News and Links items. You can scroll through to see all the news without signing up for Twitter.
2. Daily Announcement and website – Remember you can stay closely connected with these listed events and even more each day by visiting our website HERE. Our Daily Announcements are updated Monday – Friday.
3.   More student Clubs available → Please check the announcements and website for more information on how to get involved.
4. Progress reports will be sent home this Friday. Please sign and return to your students teachers.
5. PTSA cookie dough fundraiser is going on now through Sept. 1st. Please turn in tomorrow (Tuesday). See website for more information.
6. Want to volunteer to be a Book Talk leader or Character Ed leader this year? It isn’t too late. We’d love to have you. Please contact Ms. Bueno for Book talk and Mrs. Jill Wilson for Character Ed.
7. Open House is Thursday, Sept. 10th from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Parking will be at a premium so please take advantage of our bus service from The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks.
8. Book Fair - Our Fall Book Fair will be held in our library from Tuesday, Sept. 8 to Friday, Sept. 11th. You may make purchases online HERE beginning Sept. 2 through Sept. 15th. Information may be found on our website as well. Thank you for your support.
9. Get involved with our PTSA by joining today, serving on a committee, or volunteering your time. Check out their page on our website.
10. Our first Character Education day is this Wednesday. Be sure to follow up with your student(s) to ask them about the lesson.
11. No School on Monday, Sept. 7th for Labor Day.
12. We have an amazing team here at Cherokee. You can complete an Employee Recognition Form here to show them your appreciation. Thank you for taking the time to recognize and celebrate our staff!
13. School picture day - Friday, Oct. 9th. Forms will be sent home and information our on website at least one week in advance.

Hello Cherokee Families,

We are off to a great start!
Thank you for your efforts with car line in the morning and afternoon. By pulling forward we are able to get everyone in and out efficiently and safely.

Here are a few updates and reminders for you:

3.     First football and basketball games are Tuesday, Aug. 25th. Basketball games begin at 3 p.m. and students must be picked up no later than 5 p.m. Football games begin at 5:30 with 7th grade and 8th grade immediately after. All students should be picked up from football games no later than 8 p.m. Thank you!
4.     We have several clubs available for all students to join. Please check the announcements and website for more information on how to get involved.
5.     PTSA cookie dough fundraiser is going on now through Sept. 1st. See website for more information.

7.     Attached are our Bell Schedules with dates for assemblies, book talk, and Character Ed. On these dates our classes are slightly shorter and lunch times vary from the regular schedule.
