Kickapoo Families,
November is here and this month tends to fly as we have a short week this week, and again
the week of Thanksgiving. We also only have 5 ½ weeks left until the end of the first
semester! Can you believe it?
Thank you for having your student in attendance each and every day.
We encourage you to continue to keep in close communication with teachers and counselors
if you have ANY questions at all. We are here to serve you and your student.
Also, please inform other Kickapoo families of this communication. We want as many
people as possible to be in the loop of what is happening at KHS.
However, a reminder the information I share here is NOT all inclusive to what is happening
at Kickapoo High School. You will find much, much more on our new website and you can

as they are updated each day and can be found in the left column. I would recommend
checking this daily to stay informed of the KHS happenings.

Veterans Day Assembly
All Veterans and active military are invited to attend our assembly Thursday, Nov. 8th
at 9 a.m. We will have a reception after the assembly.
2nd Quarter Progress Report
The first progress report of 2nd quarter will be available after school Friday, Nov. 9th
Opportunity to Support our Students
Two of our teachers are collaborating as they work on ‘Understanding Each Other &
Our Ecosystem.”
Mrs. Cormack and Mr. Hostetler have joined together to bring our Functional Skills class
with the Ecology I and II classes. Please see the link for more details.
Currently the project is only $255 from being fully funded. Please share with your family,
friends, businesses, and colleagues as we hope to have this project fully funded in the next 10 days. Thank you for considering.
Drop Off & Pick up
Families - Please do NOT drop off your students on the streets. Even if it is near
the crosswalk this is dangerous for your child and those driving around you. We don’t want
anyone begin injured. Please do your part and go through the carline.
Thank you to those of you who are safely dropping off and picking up your students. We are
thankful for you watching out for ALL students.
Our number one priority is the safety of our students/your child(ren)!
Also, please DO NOT park in local business parking lots. Thank you.
We allow students in the building beginning at 7:20 each morning and classes start at 7:50
Monday - Thursday and at 8:20 on Friday’s.
Thank you for making KHS as safe as possible for ALL students.
Ignite Info - All students received their Chromebooks on the first day of school or when they
even more about IGNITE here.
Phone calls regarding D’s/F’s
If your student is receiving a D and/or F in any of their classes you will be receiving a
phone call encouraging you to go to eSchool Home Access to check your child's grades.
I would also recommend you connect with the teachers and counselors to find out how we
can partner to ensure your student has success in ALL classes.
There was no call last Monday. These calls will start again Tuesday, Nov. 6th. Thank you!
PTSA - We currently have 8 business and 99 individual members. We’d love to have you
As a reminder we do offer a PTSA scholarship to graduating seniors. The total dollar amount
available depends on our memberships and donations. Please note the student must also be a
member of PTSA as well.

Recognize a Kickapoo Staff Member
We love to celebrate the great work of our teachers, counselors, secretaries, custodians,
nutrition services, para professionals, etc.
No School for Students - Students do not have school Monday, Nov. 5th or
Tuesday, Nov. 6th.
Classes will be back in session on Wednesday, Nov. 7th.
