Kickapoo announcements for Oct. 8 - 12, 2018

Kickapoo Families,

I hope you enjoyed the summer like weekend. It looks as though cooler temperatures
are on the way later this week.

This is the final week of the 1st quarter. Please continue to monitor students grades HERE
via eSchool Home Access. Need your password? Contact the main office at 523-8500
for details.

We do NOT have school for students on Monday, Oct. 15 as teachers will be engaged
in professional learning.

As a reminder the information I share here is NOT all inclusive to what is happening
at Kickapoo High School. You will find much, much more on our new website and you
can find it HERE. The calendar and daily announcements are updated each day and
can be found in the left column. I would recommend checking this daily to stay
informed of the KHS happenings.

I would also encourage you to connect with us via social media as we share what’s going
on at KHS. Check us out on

Drop Off & Pick up
Thank you to those of you who are safely dropping off and picking up your students. We
are thankful for you watching out for ALL students.
Our number one priority is the safety of our students/your child(ren)!
With this we need everyone to please do NOT drop off students in the middle of the
street (Jefferson and/or Primrose).
Also, please DO NOT park in local business parking lots. Thank you.
We allow students in the building beginning at 7:20 each morning and classes start
at 7:50 Monday - Thursday and at 8:20 on Friday’s.
Thank you for making KHS as safe as possible for ALL students.

Ignite Info - All students received their Chromebooks on the first day of school or when
they enrolled if after the first day. This information provides insurance details. You can
learn even more about IGNITE here.

Phone calls regarding D’s/F’s
If your student is receiving a D and/or F in any of their classes you will be receiving
a phone call encouraging you to go to eSchool Home Access to check your child's grades.
I would also recommend you connect with the teachers and counselors to find out how
we can partner to ensure your student has success in ALL classes.

PTSA - We currently have 8 business and 99 individual members. We’d love to have
you and/or your business join. Click HERE for links to the forms.
As a reminder we do offer a PTSA scholarship to graduating seniors. The total dollar
amount available depends on our memberships and donations. Please note the student
must also be a member of PTSA as well.
Thank you to everyone who has joined to date.

FLU shots
Kickapoo will host a flu shot clinic on Friday, Nov. 16th. Click HERE for consent forms
and other information. These forms are due to the KHS nurses by Nov. 1st.

Scholarship Bulletin
Did you know we have a Scholarship Bulletin?
Check out the October bulletin for a list of college scholarships you can apply for at this time.
You can find even more great information from our Counselor’s Corner HERE.

Recognize a Kickapoo Staff Member
We love to celebrate the great work of our teachers, counselors, secretaries, custodians,
nutrition services, para professionals, etc.
Please take a few minutes to complete this form to help us celebrate the great work they do.

Bright Bytes survey
As part of the IGNiTE teaching and learning initiative, the school district partnered
with BrightBytes, an educational research and analytics organization that will help us
learn more about our schools’ technology use for student learning. The survey should take
approximately 10 minutes to complete and will be open through October 19.
Please select parent and then type in Kickapoo.
Click here to take the survey: https://bbyt.es/start/TL7TC

Please stay connected and involved all four years as we want to partner with you
through to graduation.

Have a great week and #GoChiefs #OneTribe
