Here are a few updates and reminders for you:
1. Daily Announcement and website – Remember you can stay closely connected with these listed events and even more each day by visiting our website HERE. Our Daily Announcements are updated Monday – Friday.
2. PTSA yearly calendar & Clothing Bank signup – Here is the YEARLY CALENDAR with other dates of note and all meeting dates as well. Our next meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 20th at 7:30 a.m. in the library. You can also find Cherokee PTSA on Facebook HERE. We are looking for volunteers for the SPS PTSA Clothing Bank. Click HERE for dates and times and to sign up. Thank you!
3. We have an amazing team here at Cherokee. Thank you to all the families who submitted a recognition last year! You have no idea how much this means to our teachers and staff. You can complete an Employee Recognition Form here to show them your appreciation. No recognition is too small. Thank you for taking the time to recognize and celebrate our staff!
4. IGNiTE – Have questions about IGNiTE? Check out this website for more information on IGNiTE. Our website also has links to more information at the top left-hand side of the page under IGNiTE.
5. Superintendent Senior Open Forum representative – Dr. Jungmann is asking each site to identify a “senior” representative this year. This could be a guardian, grandparent, etc. If you or someone you know would be willing please have them contact me as soon as possible. Below are the dates, times, and locations.

6. Careers in Conservation - 8th grade students/families if you are interested in learning more click HERE for more info. Click HERE for the application. All applications are due to the Cherokee office by Sept. 15th.
7. Bell schedules for Cherokee – We use a few different bell schedules during the school year. These will help you when planning for lunch, appointments, etc. This LINK will take you to a folder with the following schedules - Character Ed, Morning assembly, Sports/Pep Assembly, and our regular bell schedule. The dates are listed at the top of each schedule.
8. Spirit Wear - If you ordered spirit wear it should be in this week. It will be delivered to students during lunch periods.
9. Parent Teacher Conferences - We will host parent-teacher conferences on Monday, Oct. 24th from 3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. and Thursday, Oct. 27th from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please remember you do not need to wait until this time to have a conference. You are welcome to contact teachers any time to request a conference.
10. Clubs and Academic Teams - Check the announcements daily for the many opportunities we offer our students outside the classroom. These clubs are typically open to any and all Cherokee students unless specifically noted.
11. PTSA Reflections contest - Are you good at dance, photography, Film, Literature, Musical composition, or Art? This year’s REFLECTIONS theme is What is your story? See daily announcements for more information about Reflections.
12. FOOD FIGHT! - September 15 to October 31 #SPSFoodFight #HungerHeroes Get involved in giving. BRING NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS to Cherokee to help Ozarks Food Harvest.
